This Mother’s Day—I want to pay tribute to my family!
I am the wife and Mom that I am today because of them!
Chris, my wonderful husband, has been so patient with me the last 11 years! He has had to put up with my weird antics and my mood changes (Frequent changes)! Not only do I consider this man to be an amazing husband, but he has been and still is, such a wonderful best friend! I love him and even like him! I love spending time with him, even if it is just watching the news! He makes me laugh even though his jokes are a little corny! He is an incredible cook and an awesome Daddy! The guy can be so tired from church or work, but when the kids would ask him to play, he plays. He is NEVER too tired for them and you can tell, he honestly likes to take the time to be with the kids! One thing about Chris that I am so ever grateful for, is this—he is full of compassion. He always seems to see the good in everybody! He is also is very sacrificial. When we moved here 5 years ago, I went through a really dark time. I had post partum really bad and didn’t know it. I had no concept of who I was and what I was doing and no one knew this—but Chris! He said, “All I want is for you to be better and if I have to quit my job and the ministry (his lifetime dream and calling) to get you better then, I will. My wife and kids come first.” He stuck with me through ALL that (I just wasn’t right—my thinking was all messed up.) I am so thankful for Chris and so thankful that God paired us up! Whatever life has thrown at us, I would do it all over again with Chris! I would even marry him all over again if I could!
Bella-my sweet, Bella! At almost 7 years old, she has taught me so much about FAITH and Perseverance! From the beginning, God has showed us specific words pertaining to each kid. This Bella, has the word Persevere written all over her. First time she showed it was when she was 6 weeks old and kicked off 3 casts in 1 week! She was born with a right clubfoot—she was determined not to have that cast on that she kicked it all off! She doesn’t let ANYTHING stop her from doing or trying things. Her faith is evident because of how she believes. One time, Gabbi was sick with a 103.5 fever and we asked Bella to pray for her. All she said was, “God, please help Gabbi feel better!” Gabbi’s fever was gone! I asked her about it and all she said, “I knew if I prayed, God would just make her feel better!” Bella, is a smart kid-always looking for how things work and does it. IF she can’t do it, don’t tell her she can’t because she will keep trying till she gets it! She lights up the room with her big smile and I just love her!
Gabbi, sweet little Princess Gabbi! I used to call her Baby G—for baby girl! She has taught and continues to teach me to take the time to look and smell the flowers! This girl is the epitome of anything child-like! She doesn’t like to rush things. She loves to be outside and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation—she will literally stop and look and touch every flower and bug that she comes across. Her imagination is out of this world! She helps me see that I need to take the time out of my busy day and simply look around! Look at all of God’s blessings! She is a sweet loving little girl, who is a little bit more reserved than Bella. She can be very shy, but she is a joy to get to know. She is very compassionate and her heart is super tender to things! She is an artist and what I consider to be making a mess, she always has a purpose for whatever “mess” I see and makes it into a beautiful gift for me or Chris or her sister or brother! She is always thinking of others and what she can do for them!
Zac-his life has shown me that God is Sovereign in ALL things! Through all the STUFF that has happened to this little one, God has shown His great Hand and His mighty healing power. There was a time there where he stayed constantly sick and not growing or gaining weight. We have gone to specialists everywhere, but even without answers from the doctors, God continues to show us-He will be ok! God has healed this kid! Thankful for all that He has done in this little guy’s life! It has been 1 year since he has gotten really sick or spent time in the hospital! Through all his sickness, God just filled us with Peace, INCREDIBLE Peace! Zac is growing to be a big boy and fills our house with laughter! He has a wild imagination like Gabbi and is ALL BOY! Mud, dirt, trucks, trains and all! He is so much like Chris!
I say all this about them, because I AM SO INCREDIBLY BLESSED to call myself the wife of Chris and the Mommy to Bella, Gabbi and Zac! I have such a wonderful life with them in it! I am challenged everyday in my walk with God to keep on going because I know that to be the person, the wife and Mom, I need to be—I need to have God on my side! And the neat thing is, Chris and the kids are also on my side, cheering me on in my walk with God! Thankful for my blessed and full life! I may not have a lot by world’s standards but I am RICH person because of the love of my family! God is so GOOD! I am very grateful!
SO, it TRULY is a HAPPY MOTHER’s DAY TO me!
